Ticker Tech Need help installing an Affiliate Wire feed into your website? Let's dig in and talk tech. Copy and Paste The easiest way to "grab" the code you need to add to your website is by copying it from the appropriate feeds page. The HTML code you need for each style is provided inside a "form box" -- the easiest way to copy and paste:
On Mac: Put your mouse cursor in the "form box" and press COMMAND-A (to select all), then press COMMAND-C (to copy the code to your clipboard.) Then, in your HTML editor, use COMMAND-V to paste the code into your HTML source.
If you're using the HTML Delivery style, you'll find you have a lot of control over the way Affiliate Wire headlines display. Our headline delivery system provides very vanila HTML code, like:
<A HREF="http://www.revenews.com/advice/news/102299b.html" target="affiliatewire"><B>Amazon.com Sues Barnesandnoble.com</b></A><BR> This means you can just insert our Affiliate Wire feed inside your existing design, and it will inherit any attributes you've set for the page (including font face, size, color, location, etc.) You'll notice all links are coded to open a new browser window. Java Issues Each of the other delivery styles rely upon a Java applet. We've carefully tested our Java code to be compatible across the widest variety of browsers and platforms, but it is important to note that not everyone on the Web can view Java tickers. Each of the Java tickers we've provided was designed to match a standard "adbar size" -- running an Affiliate Wire ticker is, in fact, a great way to increase the overall click-thrus on all the advertising on your site (because users come to realize that they shouldn't just ignore the banner bars.) Downtime Since each of these delivery methods pulls information directly from the Affiliate Wire servers, it is possible that infrequent downtime might make our feeds inaccessible for short periods of time. Rest assured, though, that we're housing the Affiliate Wire system on a dedicated machine with significant resources that this shouldn't be an issue. If for some reason you do see prolonged (more than an hour) problems with the system, please do email bclark@affiliatewire.com to let us know.
